A pneumatic actuator is a device that uses clean air as a power source to drive a valve to open and close. The advantages of pneumatic actuators are fast open/close speed, safety, explosion-proof and low cost. 1. Rotation
Pneumatic actuators are divided into angular stroke and linear stroke.
The quarter-turn pneumatic actuator is rotated 90 degrees and can be used to control the opening and closing of ball valves or butterfly valves.
The linear stroke pneumatic actuator moves up and down in a straight line and is used to control the opening and closing of gate valves, knife gate valves and globe valves.
2. Torque
Different types of pneumatic actuators have different torque ranges. We need to estimate the required torque according to the size, pressure and material of the valve body, so as to avoid the situation that the valve cannot be opened or closed tightly.
The torque of the AT model ranges from 5Nm to 4678Nm
The AW model has a torque of 185Nm to 157300
Scotch yoke type torque is 500Nm to 40000Nm
3. Single-acting type or double-acting type
All models of pneumatic actuators are divided into single-acting and double-acting types.
Single-acting type actuators have multiple springs inside. Open during ventilation, the actuator will automatically reset when the air supply is paused. The advantage of single-acting actuators is safety.
Double-acting actuators have no internal springs. Air to open and air to close. The advantages of double acting are fast switching speed, high torque and lower cost.
