The IP (INTERNATIONAL PROTECTION) PROTECTION rating system was drafted by the IEC (INTERNATIONAL ELECTROTECHNICAL COMMISSION). If protection level IP54, Ip as the marked letter, the number 5 as the first marked number, 4 as the second marked number. The first marker number indicates the level of contact protection and foreign object protection, and the second marker number indicates the level of waterproof protection.
The first marker number indicates the level of exposure protection and foreign object protection (protection area). It is represented by the following number:
0 — unprotected.
1 — Protection against 50 mm diameter and larger solid foreign bodies.
2 — Protection against solid foreign bodies of 12.5 mm diameter and larger.
3 — Protection against 2.5 mm diameter and larger solid foreign bodies.
4 — protection against 1.0 mm diameter and larger solid foreign bodies.
5 — Dust Protection cannot completely prevent dust entry, but the amount of dust into the equipment will not cause harm.
6 — The dust seal completely prevents the foreign matter to enter, and may completely prevent the dust to enter.
The second marker number indicates the level of waterproof protection (coverage) and is represented by the following number:
0 — unprotected.
1 — Water droplets should protect vertical falling water droplets from damage.
2 — when the body of the drip-proof cabinet is inclined at an angle of 15 degrees to any side, the water drops falling vertically should not cause damage.
3 — Protect the water sprayed from the 60-degree angle on either side of the vertical line from causing damage.
4 — Prevent splashing water from splashing in every direction without causing damage.
5 — Prevent spray water from coming out of nozzles that aim at the cabinet in each direction from causing damage.
6 — Protection against strong water jets aiming at the cabinet body from every direction should not cause damage.
7 — Protection against short-term immersion in water under standard pressure to ensure that no damage is caused by water ingress.
8– protection against long-term flooding can be immersed in water under specific conditions to ensure that no damage is caused by water ingress.
